Landscape Etchings
A gallery of aquatint etchings from the Peak District, the Lakes and Lancashire. There is a description of how I made Above Eyam here.
These etchings are mainly based on a stretch of the River Derwent between Ladybower and Rowsley.
I’ve used 10 x 15 cm pieces of copper plate to experiment with since 2006. The size of the plate brings out qualities in the aquatint that is hard to achieve on a larger plate. I love the softness of this form of printing.
