Figurative Etchings

A gallery of aquatint etchings.

While walking on the Dale peninsula in Pembrokeshire I came across three concrete posts next to a decaying second world war coastal defence. These aquatints are my thoughts about the area.

I saw the slow destruction of Hallam Tower from my studio. It was in the far distance, and has a special memory for me.  It was where my friend Bob Claytor, who I met at Central in London, was married.  And it was there that I met members of the group Big Pants. I lied, saying I could play the soprano sax, and joined the group.

Skimming stones on Redmires Reservoir and looking at waves on the Northumberland coast.  The inspiration for these works comes from the oddest video I ever took.  I still can’t explain it.

Working in my studio, I noticed a bloke on the roof of the building opposite. He was being filmed doing a stationary jump onto the next building. Twice.
